Learn how to create a US Dollar (USD) account on Bujeti. Once created, your USD account appears on the Accounts page alongside your NGN balance, allowing you to hold, receive, and send funds in USD separately from your naira accounts.

Note: USD accounts on Bujeti are powered by Bridge. By creating a USD account, you agree to both Bujeti's Terms and Bridge's Terms of Service and Privacy Policies.

Step 1: Log into your Bujeti Dashboard and at the side bar, click Accounts. Then click the + Add an account button in the top-right corner. From the dropdown, select + Create an account.

  • A 'Create a new account' panel slides open on the right. Complete the three fields:

    • Currency: Select American Dollar (USD) from the dropdown. This sets the account's operating currency.

    • Account name: Enter a descriptive name for the account — e.g. USD Operations, FX Reserve, International Payments. This is how the account appears throughout Bujeti.

    • Account type: Select the appropriate account type from the dropdown (e.g. Expense, Revenue or Tax vault). This helps categorise the account for reporting purposes.

Step 2: A terms agreement modal appears. Read the terms, then check the 'I Agree' checkbox to confirm you accept Bujeti's Terms of Service and Bridge's Terms of Service and Privacy Policies. Then click Continue to create the account.

  • Once created, the Accounts page refreshes to show a new USD balance card at the top alongside your NGN balance. Your new USD account also appears as a card in the All accounts list, ready to send, receive, and hold US Dollars.

Note: You can only create a USD account once your KYC and KYB verification has been fully completed and approved.
Your USD account has its own dedicated account number (shown as ···1949 in the example above). Share this with international partners or payment platforms to receive USD directly into Bujeti.
