Step 1: Log into your Bujeti Dashboard and at the side bar, click Invoicing, then select Invoices.
Click the Create an invoice button in the top-right corner. From the dropdown, select New invoice.
On the 'Create new invoice' screen, under Customer's information, use the Customer dropdown to search for and select an existing customer. If the customer doesn't exist yet, click "+ Add" to create a new customer profile without leaving the page.
Step 2: Fill in the Invoice details:
Invoice number: Optional as 001, 002, etc. Edit if you use a custom numbering format.
Purchase order number: Optional β enter the customer's PO number for reference.
Currency: Select the billing currency (default: Nigerian naira NGN).
Issue date: Auto-set to today's date. Adjust if needed.
Terms: Select payment terms: Due on receipt, Net 7, Net 15, Net 30, etc.
Due date: Auto-calculated based on the Terms selected. Can be edited manually.
Make recurring: Toggle on to set this invoice to repeat automatically on a schedule.
Scroll down to the 'Products and services' section. Enter the Product/Service Name, Quantity, and Unit price for each line item. The Amount excl. Tax is calculated automatically. Click + Add additional item to add more line items.
Apply discount and tax (optional)
In the 'Payment & instalment settings' section, toggle on Payment instalments if you want to allow your customer to pay in multiple instalments over time. Then select the Account to credit β this is the Bujeti account where received payments will land and settled into. Optionally add Notes (e.g. 'Thanks for doing business with us!') and attach any relevant files.
Step 3: Once Invoice is configured, click Preview invoice in the top-right corner. Bujeti shows a live preview of your invoice and lets you choose from three templates: New Dawn, Classic, and Foundation.
Select your preferred style, then click Save and send to email it to the customer immediately, or Save as draft to send later.
Click Edit to go back and make any last-minute changes before sending. Once sent, the invoice status will update to Pending on the Invoices list.
Note: When appying tax and Separate Tax Collection is enabled, By checking this, we'll automatically reserve tax from this invoice in a dedicated tax account and then you can create an account and select Tax vault Under Accounts.
