Virtual cards can be issued in Naira or US Dollars, giving your team the flexibility to handle international online transactions, recurring payments, and one-time purchases with complete spending control and real-time tracking.
Bujeti offers two types of virtual corporate cards to match different use cases:
Multi-Use Virtual Cards
Can be used multiple times for various transactions
Remains active until manually deactivated
Ideal for recurring subscriptions, regular vendor payments, and ongoing business expenses
Perfect for team members who need consistent access to funds
Single-Use Virtual Cards
Designed for one-time transactions only
Automatically deactivates after the first successful payment
Provides enhanced security for high-risk or one-off purchases
Excellent for temporary contractors or specific project expenses
Step 1: After logging into your Bujeti Dashboard, locate the sidebar and click on "Cards".
Click the "Create a Card" button located at the top right corner of your screen.
When the card type options appear,
Choose between:
Multi-use Virtual Card — for repeat transactions and ongoing expenses
Single-use Virtual Card — for one-time payments with automatic deactivation
Click on your preferred card type to proceed.
Step 2: Configure the essential card settings:
Assign to a Budget: Select the budget that will fund this card. All transactions will be automatically debited from this budget in real-time.
Card Holder Name: Enter the name of the team member who will use this card. If you're creating it for yourself, your name will auto-populate.
Select the currency for your virtual card:
Naira Card — for local Nigerian transactions
Dollar Card — for international online payments and subscriptions

Step 3: Click on the "Advanced Settings" dropdown to define granular controls:
Payment Method Restrictions:
Enable or disable specific transaction types
Control where and how the card can be used
Spending Limits:
Set daily, weekly, or monthly spending caps
Attach the card to an existing spending policy for automated enforcement
Expense Categories:
Automatically categorize all card transactions
Simplify reporting and budget tracking
Merchant Restrictions:
Limit card usage to specific merchant categories
Block high-risk transaction types
Step 4: Review all settings carefully, then click "Create Card" to finalize your virtual corporate card.
Click on the virtual card you just created
View the card number, CVV, expiration date, and billing address

How to Activate your Bujeti virtual card
How to Activate your Bujeti virtual card
Step 1: After creating your virtual card, Bujeti automatically sends a verification email to your registered email address.
Open your email inbox
Look for an email from Bujeti with the subject line related to card is waiting for you
Click the "Verify my BVN" button in the email
Step 2: The verification link opens a new page where you'll provide your BVN details.
Enter your 11-digit BVN in the field provided
Ensure the information matches your official bank records
Click "Verify" to submit
Enter your BVN carefully. The Date of birth and details on your BVN must match your Bujeti account date of birth.
Step 3: Once BVN verification is complete, you'll see a confirmation message. Now return to your Bujeti dashboard to continue the activation process.
Go back to your Bujeti dashboard and Navigate to Cards in the left sidebar
Locate your newly created virtual card
Find your virtual card in the cards list
Click the three-dots menu (⋮) next to your card
Select "Activate Card" from the dropdown menu
Step 4: To complete activation, click on Update PIN to activate card to set a secure 4-digit PIN for your card.
In the PIN setup screen, enter a 4-digit PIN of your choice
Re-enter the same PIN to confirm
Click "Update PIN" to save
Once you've set your PIN, your card is now fully activated and ready to use!
